A media usage comparison of office workers in IT and consulting companies between China and Japan

Communication is important for successful services, and media selection is the key for communication. However nearly all previous research focused on qualified researches. In this research, quantified analyses on media selection in IT and consulting companies are made using Media Fitness Framework (MFF) [9]. Moreover, selections from China and Japan were compared. FTF and email are found to be two of the most important communication media in office works. Furthermore, the selection of email is found to be the most similar one between China and Japan among all candidate media. Detailed differences and implication of these differences are discussed.
