DREADED, DANGEROUS AND DIVERSE; MANAGING HEALTH AND SAFETY FOR AN INTEGRATED SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

摘要

This paper addresses the Health and Safety Program for the Northern Tier Solid Waste Authority (NTSWA), a rural integrated solid waste authority in north central Pennsylvania. It covers the basics of the program, from management support to employee training. The author offers both successes and difficulties with developing and implementing the program. It also includes a description of the unique employee safety incentive program recently put into practice.
