Colour removal is the main purpose of sugar refining. Small errors in the process can damage much good sugar. Consequently, sugar factories work with large safety margins.The Neltec ColourQ colorimeter can measure the sugar colour in real time. It has sensitivity to measure very small colour changes. This can eliminate the risk of delivering sugar with too high colour. Even more important, users apply the instrument to trim the process, reduce the safety margins, increase the sugar house capacity, and obtain large cost reductions.There is no premium for sugar of better quality than agreed, so all costs put into too good sugar are wasted.
