#e material requierments for superaapacitor electrodes and the cathode of a lithium-ion battery. The performances of the battery cathodes Li_(1-x)Fe_2(SO_4)and Li_(1+x)VmoO_6 are compared to those for supercapacitor electrodes operating with 5.3 M H_2SO_4, Nafion 117, or 2M KCI aqueous solution at pH 6.7. The use of a KCI aqueous electrolyte at mild pH allows stabilization of amorphous, hydrated electrode materials such as a-MnO_2.nH_2O that are not stable in 5.3 M H_2SO_4 or with Nafion 117. However, the larger K~+ ion appears to reduce by a factor of three the theoretical capacity attainable with H~+ ions.#p.655-665#wql##Ou000f?dc elecgtrolysis techniques. The mobile species was demonstrated to be the trivalent ions in the Sc_2(WO_4)_3-type structure. By the dc electrolysis, the mobile ion species was definitely identified to be the trivalent ions in the Sc_2(WO_4)_3-type tungstates. IN addition, the demonstration of a macroscopic Al~(3+) ion conduction in the turgstate structure was directly accomplished.#p.647-652#wql##pen??e of oxide ionic conductivity of M_2O_3-CeO_2 (M=Sm,La) solid solutions was improved by the increasing effective index.
