MatLab applications to the solution of problems associated to electric power systems

This paper presents some algorithms and programs, developed on the basis ofrnMatLab, in order to calculate steady state or transients processes in electricalrnpower systems with educational or research purposes.rnThe algorithms and programs presented allow to study different aspects relatedrnto typical problems in power systems, such as the representation of nonlinearrnshunt branches and the effects of small and large disturbances on the systemrnbehaviour.rnResults obtained by means of the application of these programs are shown torndemonstrate their capabilities, as well as the possibilities that MatLab offers tornsolve problems associated to the power systems in a relatively simple way.
