摘要

In modern art, art Biennial is a great power to drive the development of art industry, but also a significant stage to exhibit new achievements of art. This paper took China Shanghai Biennial and South Korea Gwangju Biennial as examples and made a comparison of their developments. Then it tried to probe into the effects of art sponsorship on Chinese art industry, extant problems and some solutions by studying foreign art system and art market. It is concluded from the experience of South Korea Gwangju Biennial and biennials in European countries that a successful biennial must combine expenditure of national cultural industry, corporate sponsorship and market economic operation.
