Dynamics of vortices in new families of nondiffracting beams

Propagation of light beams with apparent nondiffracting properties have intrigued the scientific community since theywere introduced. In this talk we will introduce the fundamentals of nondiffracting beams and discuss the dynamics ofoptical vortices embedded in the new two families of nondiffracting beams we have recently discovered, Mathieu andparabolic beams.
