摘要

This paper introduces the application of RBIM for two-dimensional rockfall analysis. RBIM uses only two impact parameters: the energy COR and the friction coefficient. This is the same number of parameters used in lumped mass models, which are based on the tangential and normal COR. The new model takes into account the shape of the falling rock. Normal COR may be calculated based on the simple centric impact test, while there are many difficulties involved inrndefining the tangential COR. In RBIM, e_* has the same definition as itrndoes for centric impact, and the friction coefficient has the advantage of a physical interpretation and ease of derivation.
