DFT/RDFT FILTER BANKS WITH SYMMETRIC ZERO-PHASE NONOVERLAPPING ANALYSIS/SYNTHESIS FILTERS AND APPLICATIONS

摘要

In this paper, a new filter bank structure related to the complex and real discrete Fourier transforms (DFT and RDFT) are introduced, and its performance in image fusion is investigated as compared to wavelets. The proposed DFT/RDFT filter bank with symmetric zero-phase analysis/synthesis filters may be suitable for a wide range of applications in signal and image processing. In image fusion, the results with the new method was better than the results obtained with the wavelet approach.
