An efficient implicit scheme for the tratment of the contact between deformable bodies

Newly ibnterpolated implicit schemes are presented for hte transient response of highly nnonlinear problems of large deformation anlaysis presenting important material dissipation.Surprisingly these schemes exhibit excellent convergence porperties tha tmake them a cost efficient alternative to explicit shcmees geerally advocated as the best choice for these problems.We present the resoluton fo the dynamical buckling of a thin steel cylinder.In this example,it is shown that implicit scheme is more efficient (less CPU-cost for a given precision of the contact situation and higher precision reachable) than explicit scheme,both using the Penalty method for the treatmetn of the contact problem.
