THE PHYSIOLOGY OF THREAT: REMOTE ASSESSMENT USING LASER DOPPLER VIBROMETRY

The findings reviewed briefly above support, we believe, the overall conclusion that the LDV method offers exceptional capabilities as a method for recording physiological signs of stress and emotion. We have shown that the method can successfully record in several key physiological response systems, including cardiovascular, respiratory, tremor, voice and muscle tension activity. Our studies have confirmed that the method is useful during interviews and interrogations, even in its present state of development. Additional planned research and method development will, we anticipate, increase the sensitivity and operational flexibility of the method.
