摘要

Japan energy security of the solar hybrid H2 production from natural gas and coal usingconcentrated solar thermal energy has been studied. From the view point of energy security,the most important point is how Japan can shift the fossil fuels to renewable energy for ournext-generation of sustainable society. In the next few decades, Japan should achieve thedevelopment of 5-10% of the solar energy in sunbelt as the primary energy source in Japan.The most economically feasible energy delivery system for solar energy would be the solarhybrid fuel production using natural gas and the concentrated solar thermal energy. Fromthe energy security view point, it is preferable that the solar hybrid fuels are produced fromcoal. With the JI (Joint Implementation) between Australia and Japan, they could produce thesolar hybrid H2 fuel from coal. Japans dependency on the solar hybrid H2 fuel produced inAustralia by hybridizing coal with the concentrated solar thermal energy could greatlycontribute to enhancement in energy security in Japan.
