摘要

The main aim of this scientific study is to assess the contribution of surface layers of alloy AlCu3MgMnPb by determining the experimental measurement of temperature in the turning technology with the coated carbide cutting insert. This experimental study is a continuation of the solutions of grant VEGA no. 1/9428/02 titled "The technological heredity of the machined surfaces - surface integrity". The first chapter of this paper discussed about the possibilities and technological challenges in turning of Al-alloys. The second chapter discusses about technological characteristics of cutting process and temperature in machining. In the third and fourth chapter is described the measurement of temperature in turning by the special type of camcorder FLIR. This paper, together with published results is a basis that will enable optimizing the quality of turning process, specially turning of automotive parts of their dominant functional areas.
