Although the reaction rates in traditional suspension photocatalytic reactors are relatively high, the suspended particles present in the solution still needed to be separated and recovered. Therefore, there are many new fixed photocatalyst film reactors to be developed and studied recently. In this research, a photocatalytic membrane reactor was developed. A ceramic filtration tube was used as the supporting material for coating P-25 and cathode bulbs as the UV light source. The photocatalytic decomposition ratios of Acid Orange 10 in dead-end operation were three times that in crossflow operation. The apparent rate constants increase with increasing light intensities at initial dye concentration of 15 and 25 mg/1, but decrease with increasing initial dye concentrations ranged from 5 to 45 mg/1 at light intensity of 6.97 mW/cm~2 . The order of the dependency of photocatalytic reaction rate on light intensity is 0.539 which agrees with most literature value of 0.1 to 1.0. The apparent rate constant in acidic solution was higher than that in neutral and alkaline solution.
