A Study of the Evolution Pattern of Chinese University-run Enterprises-A Corporate Governance Perspective

University-run enterprises are an important platform for technology transfer in China, but they have various governance problems caused by factors such as the creation pattern. This paper attempts to study the reform and development pattern of Chinese university-run enterprises from the corporate governance perspective. Through a comparison of the similarities and differences between university-run enterprises in China and university spin-offs in western countries, we analyze the significance of Chinese university-run enterprises evolving towards university spin-offs, and finally propose the path along which Chinese university-run enterprises evolve towards USOs.
