My study focuses on the situation of women in science in the European Community's research and development policy in the Central-European and Baltic States. I divided my paper into the following parts, corresponding to the milestones of the gender and science policy of the European Union:• What is Enwise and the Enwise report?• What are the recommendations from the Enwise Report?• Common problems of the Enwise countries on research and science• Best practices for women in science and research in Central and Eastern Europe.
