During the protection of stone culture relics,the long term strength of bearing structures is a key factor of their bearing capacity which decides whether or not the stone relic can be preserved for a long time.In this paper,we present a research into the long term strength of pile rocks of Global Strategy YunGang grottos,which makes good sense in theory and practice for the Grotto protection.To know the bearing capacity of the piles in the front of No.9,10 and 12 grottos,we do research on the long term strength of YuanGang sand rocks with different moisture content by single axial creep experiment with stepped load,we also analyze the creep characteristic and calculate the bearing capacity of piles as well as the gravity of attic that the piles can carry with long term strength which is got from the experiment with a high moisture content.At last we analyze the rock character and structure,find out the strength difference mechanics of different sand rocks,and fit an equation of the long term strengths
