Direct thin-layer chromatographic method for the determination of aflatoxin bin in foods

Historically, qualitative and quantitative assay procedures for Aflatoxins were base on the used of thin-layer (TLC) and liquid (LC) chromatography. And pure mycotoxins were used as reference materials [1]. These methods, although accurate to low parts-per-billion levels, are time consuming and require extensive sample cleanup, large amounts of toxic solvents, and expensive instrumentation. Several modification of the AOAC CB TLC methods for Aflatoxins were recently reported [2].
