One hundred and thrity-six culture proven cases of tinea capitis were collected from 1989 to 1997 in Cheng-KUng university hospital, Taiwan. Among tehm were 101 adults (100 female, 1 male) and 35 children (28 girls, 7 boys). Bimodal age d istributios occur in prepuberty and postimenopause.
