@@ Fluazinam, a pyridinamine fungicide, has strong antifungal activity against a wide variety of plant pathogens. This fungicide is considered to act an uncoupler which inhibits the coupling between the electron transport and phosphorylation reactions in mitochondria respiratory chain. However, there are only a few reports on fluazinam-response genes in filamentous fungi. Therefore, in this study, we carried out a genome-wide search for fluazinamresponse genes in Neurospora crassa. Microarray analysis demonstrated that 143 genes were upregulated after treatment with 5mg/L of fluazinam for 60 min. Although they included the genes belong to the various functional categories such as metabolism, cell rescue, energy production, and cellular transport, we mentioned that many genes in response to oxidative stress were strongly induced by fluazinam.
