Hindered phenol antioxidants such as N,N'-hexamethylenebis(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-rnhydroxyhydrocinnamide) are used in many industrial applications. HPLC analysis and the DSCrnvan't Hoff method were used to measure the purity of samples of this material obtained fromrnseveral commercial sources as well as to determine the effects of a process change on purity.rnBoth methods gave reproducible results but were subject to different types of uncertainties. Therntwo methods gave results that were in reasonable agreement with each other.
