Now the gas accidents have become the focus of prevention and treatment, especially in the process of high gas and thick seam mining. In this paper, the gob of a test coal mine in Shanxi Province Qinshui coalfield is choose as the research object. After summarizing and analyzing the laws of methane movement in goaf and the gas drainage methods, I establish a goaf gas drainage numerical model and carry on numerical simulation, at last get the conclusion; the effectiveness of a gas drainage measure with buried head road at a depth of 100m and branch pipe at a depth of 50m is best, this measure can reduce gas Concentration below to 0. 7% ; the gas drainage effectiveness with buried tube drainage and high position drilling is better. The conclusion can be as the theoretical basis in the test mine gob gas drainage and also have some practical significance for increasing this mine gob gas drainage efficiency.
