摘要

The mass media play an important role in the construction of social gender roles and the promotion of women's survival and development. Based on the analysis of women's images on newspapers, television, advertising and internet, this article attempts to discuss the social and cultural origins of constructed images of women on the mass media, analyze the impacts of the replication of the media culture on women's survival and development, and propose to reconstruct the images of women's on the mass media. In order to promote the women's selfidentity and the acknowledgement of women's subject consciousness from the whole society in the course of reconstruction of women's image, the mass media should not reduced the images of women into passive object, such as "be seen", "be materialized", "be consumed","be fantasized" and so on.
