Qualification of a Computed Radiography System's Exposure Range for Optimum Image Quality

This methodology produces a qualified minimum pixel value, and possibly a range, based on practical image quality measures of EPS and SNR. Guesswork and questionable rules of thumb have been eliminated, providing a sound basis for exposure determination and evaluation. Although a little extra effort is required up front, it saves a lot of effort later on, and is a great way to become thoroughly familiar with a particular CR system. Watch for these methodologies to be featured (required) in upcoming ASTM standards and revisions.
