The paper reports on ten years field experience in the development, installation, exploitationrnand field-driven upgrading of a new generation of an on-line condition monitoring system forrnuse on large rotating machinery operating in power plants.rnThe paper illustrates the system basic configuration, functions and performances, togetherrnwith some typical applications in diagnosing and troubleshooting vibration problems.rnPerspective developments to withstand increasingly demanding user needs in turbomachineryrnmonitoring and diagnostics are discussed as well.
