Lessons Learned – Lining Asbestos Cement Sewer Main

This paper presents information on the investigation and lessons-learned during recentrncured-in-place (CIP) lining project in which the host pipe was an asbestos cement (AC)rnsewer main.rnDue to deterioration of the main, swelling of the AC material resulted in reduction of therninside diameter of the pipe. Upon installation and curing of the liner material, wrinklesrnwere noted during the follow-up inspection.rnMaterial testing and inspection were conducted to determine what, if any, impacts thernwrinkling would have on the pipe's integrity.rnThis paper examines the process of installing the CIP liner, examination of the finalrnproduct and the resulting impacts of the wrinkles.
