Abstract: In this paper, basic principles of in- and anti-phasedarray in the localization of a heterogeneity in ascattering continuum are discussed. Various geometricconfiguration of multi-source placements, initialphase, and sinusoidal ac amplitude modulation areintroduced. Phase and light intensity profiles in theplane of interest were computed analytically for ahomogeneous scattering medium. Changes in the phase andthe ac intensity with respect to the position ofabsorbers were also simulated by using a probabilisticnumerical solution, the B-W-K technique. !17
