A large Employee Appraisal System is accessed by clients from different international locations using the Internet. Being a distributed system, it is not easy to monitor and assess performance of such a large online transaction processing (OLTP) system. Performance Monitoring and Analysis of such a system requires pinpointing to the box or link in the system that is responsible for the overall slow performance. In this paper, we elaborate on our approach of-per-formance monitoring and analysis of a large OLTP system using an employee appraisal system as an example.
