A NOVEL MAC PROTOCOL FOR TIME CONSTRAINED TRANSMISSION IN MOBILE AD HOC AND SENSOR NETWORKS

摘要

In this work, a new MAC sublayer protocol for data transmission with time constraints in mobile ad hoc and sensor networks has been presented. The concept of its working activity, as well as its main characteristics are given. Through the use of this protocol the ad hoc and sensor network can be in the dormant state. Just after their arrival at the mobile node(s) in the radio coverage range of dormant nodes, they are activated and synchronized with the mobile node(s). Thus, the proposed MAC sublayer protocol allows for data harvesting by mobile nodes in the network. When the mobile nodes are outside the radio coverage range, the nodes are again in the dormant state.
