Synthesis and metal complexation properties of a ring-opened polynorbornene containing quaternary ammonium salts as side chain
In the past several years, much attention has been focused on the preparation of ionic polymers that can be used i n many domains such as biomedical devices, sanitary equipments, antistatic agents, high selective membranes. For example, the ability of ionic polymers to form polymer-metal complexes may be applied in hydrometallurgy for recovery of different metals from lean ores and wastes. The method of metal extraction based on liquid-solid contact process has attracted much attention due to the selectivity, high chemical and mechanical stability, and high ion exchange rate of polymer membranes.
