The determination of ozone requirements fro disinfection for lewiston-auburn, Maine

Piloting of ozone and chlrine using Lake Auburn, Maine, water was conducted in 1991 to determine the suitability of each disinfectant for meeting Surface Water Treatment criteria. The study was conducted for the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine, Water Districts. Existing treatment consists of chlorination, fluoridation and corrosion control. The existing lake intakes are located in shallow water. A new deep water intake is under consideration, so both the shallow and the deeper waters were used during these tests.
