Educational Research in Data Abstractions (ERDA) is an intelligentntutorial system. The system's focus is to present animated and graphicalnrepresentations of data abstractions and algorithms to supplement CS2nlectures. The authors deal with the research subjects of ERDA whichninclude the following topics: a user-centered, highly portable interfacenthat provides the user with a persistent framework and the ability toninitiate nonlinear exploration; object-oriented lesson developmentntechniques; standardization and documentation of lesson features thatnprovides consistency and ensures future portability; and emphasis onninteractive, user-directed learning
