EXAMPLES OF NEW TYPES OF TENSION-STRUT STRUCTURES

The paper contains a review of chosen types of the structural systems of tension-strut structures for the roofrncovers developed recently by the author. It also presents some examples of applications of these systems in thernarchitectonic objects planned to build in the near future. These systems were shaped with the aim to obtainrntension-strut structures, which could be more efficient and effective than the typical forms of the cable domernstructures. The main goal of the research was the endeavor to create tension-strut system, which would be able torntake each shape of the roof cover and able to be spaced over each form of the base projection. In the designrnprocesses of these system there were applied units mainly in form of tetrahedron modules. All types of thernsupport structures have been proposed for the roof covers of particularly large spans. In the shaping procedures ofrnthe new proposed types of tension-strut structures there are used numerical models of these systems defined inrnthe programming language Formian.
