Polyester resin was extruded into foam planks at different densities by using strand die technology.rnTotally recyclable thermoplastic closed-cell strand foams with high strength, and excellentrnchemical and thermal resistance, are useful as structural core materials for sandwich composites.rnThey are amenable to various laminating techniques, compatible with various resins and adhesivesrnfor bonding to composite skins. These foams can also be thermoformed, be employed in high-temperaturernlamination, and in "one-resin" thermoplastic composite sandwich processing, to provide lightweight, high-strength structural sandwiches suitable for use in a variety of composite applications, such as marine, wind energy, transportation and industrial.
