The article introduced the application of the airdeck charge technique (referred to as KJ charging) for on-site mixed emulsion explosive trucks in an open-pit mine. It was concluded that through applying this technology and analysis of the blasting effect and the economic efficiency, an ordinary rock emulsion explosives is used as the detonating devices (the condition: mass≥500g, charge diameter ≥50mm). It is feasible and reliable to detonate the on-site mixed emulsion explosives. KJ charging skill could significantly reduced the equipment usage and charge workloads, After using the KJ charging technology, the costs of blasting equipment are saved as much as 0.424~0.456yuan/m3. In accordance with the actual mine production of 3.7 million m3, the technique could reduce the costs of blasting equipment by 1.57~1. 63 million yuan. Therefore, KJ charging skill could significantly reduced the equipment usage and charge workloads, therefore, KJ charging technology should be promoted in open-pit mines.
