RTO COMPUTATION USING THE WEIBULL DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION

This paper proposes an approach for computation of theretransmission timeout. The proposed approach is basedon the Weibull distribution; by taking into account the parametersand statistical properties of the distribution. Theapproach is motivated by various properties of theWeibull.With this approach the response function of RTO time isfound to be dependent primarily on the β parameter of theWeibull. Simulation results show that this approach reducesthe number of early timeouts, especially for largevalues of β.
