摘要

A small size broadband microstrip patch antenna withsmall ground plane has been fabricated using MEMS.Multiple layer substrates are used to realize small size andbroadband characteristics. The microstrip patch is dividedinto 3 pieces and each patch is connected to each otherusing a metal microstrip line. The fabrication process issimple and only one mask is needed. Two types ofmicrotrip antennas are fabricated. Type A is themicrostrip antenna with metal lines and type B is themicrostrip antenna without metal lines. The size ofproposed microstip antenna is 8*12*2mm3 and theexperimental results show that the antenna type A andtype B have the bandwidth of 420MHz at 5.3 GHz and480MHz at 5.66 GHz, respectively.
