This discussion will explore the attributes of the holistically designed system. A dynamic foundation system must be holistically planned, designed, and analyzed; the design concepts, components, elements, loads, and materials (including soil parameters) must be understood to develop a serviceable system. A dynamic design will present the owner with better service, improved maintenance records, and increased longevity.
