The paper presents the simulation results of the studies made for the heat transfer phenomenon that takes place through opaque walls and walls with windows, for various thicknesses for the exterior thermal insulation. The problem we want to answer in this paper concerns the thermal protection degree of the opaque walls and of walls with windows: to what extend is imposed the determination of the corrected medium thermal resistance R' or of the medium corrected thermal transmittance U', and their effects on determining the heat losses through these elements of the building envelope.
