This paper presents a micromachined fluidic chip and a fluidic system for the production of coated nano assembled microparticles. The chip, manufactured in silicon and glass, is designed to work by fluidic focussing and droplet formation [1-4]. The droplet formation and coating process are investigated by optical and fluorescence microscopy. After the evaporation of the solvents, the resulting microparticles and their structure are analysed in a confocal microscope, showing that round and fully coated microparticles were produced. The core particles and coating chosen for the experiments may both be loaded with different therapeutic agents. Therefore, the current approach provides as a model system towards the microfluidic realisation of particles for drug co-delivery [5]
