Modelling and Simulation of Energy Consumption in the Transport Sector in the Madrid Region. 2010 -2050

Possible energy consumption levels in the near future in the road transport sector currently constitute one of the great energy unknowns for any country or region, because their evolution hinges on a large number of factors that range from infrastructure development and technological breakthroughs, to the fight against pollution, traffic congestion, depletion of resources, rising fuel prices, insecurity of supply, etc. However, it seems that the predictable evolution of road transport will be influenced by the need to reduce levels of emission and consumption, foster energy efficiency and the use of clean vehicles, look for new fuels and improve existing fuels.
