Nanao is one of the most important mariculture bases in Guangdong Province,China.Total mercury from 16 surface sediments were analyzed in Baisha Bay of Nanao in March,2011.The results showed that the mean concentration of total mercury in surface sediments was 64.38 ng/g and the potential ecological risks of mercury have reached a moderate level in the bay.
