The stress of UAV research and development being conducted for 15 years at the John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics, Obuda University with J. Selye University has gradually been shifted to applications. In the past five years significant progress has been made in the research and development of UAV applications that support precision agriculture. Recently, pilot imaging systems installed on UAV platform have successfully been run under real circumstances. Based on the images gained while flying the farms that took part in the experiment were better informed and notified about damages in time. Based on the data damages could be controlled or reduced at the right time even when they were made. The amount of yield could be estimated more efficiently even before harvesting and the extent of damages done could also be forecast empirically.
