摘要

High power diode laser with coaxial powder injection was used to deposit single tracks of different materials (NiBSi alloy, 316L stainless steel and Inc625 superalloy) on to a carbon steel plate, and the influence of the processing parameters and the cladding material on the main geometrical features of the clad was investigated. Clad height is linearly proportional to the ratio between the feeding rate and the scanning speed, also known as powder density. The effect of the cladding material is visible through the proportionality constant, which is different for the three materials. Clad width is influenced by laser power and scanning speed through the combined parameter P~2/V~(0.5), while it does not depend on feeding rate. Cladding material does not have a significative effect on clad width. As a consequence, aspect ratio is influence by the three processing parameters and the clad material. An equation to predict aspect ratio in the critical range (between 5 and 20) is given.
