The Influence of Power Cut in USA and CAN. on the Development of Power Electronics Technology in China

摘要

This paper introduces August 14th blackout in the United States and Canada and its reference for Chinese Power System. Important propose has been presented in this paper about how to increase the stability and security of Chinese Power System. New probabilistic security evaluation method is suggested for more accurate understanding the status of the bulk power system. And dynamic reactive power compensation like STATCOM/SVC is the key point to increase voltage stability. Finally, special analysis of the key value of power electronic technologies to the construction of modern power system is presented.
