This paper designs a new electric power assets' lifecycle management solution, which is based on the Big Dipper and Global Position System (BD/GPS for short) chip. The major design includes base designing a BD/GPS chip, and developing a BD/GPS module and applying a solution which faces electric power assets' lifecycle management and could supply a high-accuracy fixed position, navigation, measurement, emergency message and timing for electric power assets and an extending faction for various data collection. The solution will guarantee electric power assets safely, meanwhile, it could boost the level of electric power assets' lifecycle management, enhance use efficiency, reduce electric power assets' management cost, realize electric power assets' management beneficially, completely and roundly.
