Chemical-looping combustion (CLC) is a novel combustion technology that utilize an oxygen carrier, such as metal oxide, to transport oxygen from the air to the fuel, thereby avoiding direct contact between fuel and air. The significant advantage of CLC over conventional combustion is that CLC can produce a sequestration-ready carbon dioxide (CO_2) - not diluted by nitrogen (N_2) - without expending any major energy required for the separation of CO_2. In this study, the reaction performance of methane CLC over Iron and Copper Oxygen Carriers was evaluated with a continuous Single Fuidized Bed Reactor (SFBR) test.
