Model-based design in Matlab/Simulink allows to use automatically generated model description codes in HDL languages for teaching students, since the latter contain a workable example of a hardware description of the circuit in the form of logical devices, required clock, control, installation and other signals, as well as an example of the algorithm execution for their processing. The need to describe signals is most difficult for programmers and requires knowledge of electronics and the element base of programmable logic integrated circuits (FPGA). The workable Simulink model and the corresponding standardized HDL code allows to acquire FPGA configuration skills quickly, since student do not have to write it again, but only to correct a workable model for use in a specific FPGA computer-aided design system.
