At the heart of this work lies almost twenty years of experience creating HC deposits geologic models on the basis of domestic software ?AutoCorr? (certificate No2004610585 of 27.02.2004), the drafting of which we w orked out the basic principles and techniques of automatic and interactive well log correlation. The complex geological objects examine techniques developed by the authors implemented in the Methodological Recommendations to well log correlation ( Nedra, Moscow, 2013) and approved by the expert technical advice of the State Commission on Mineral Reserves (FBU "State Reserves Committee" Rosnedra protocol from 15.11.2012g.). Such techniques include: ?selection of the most informative set of log curves applied to the geological conditions of each region; ? increasing of amplitude visually least informative log curves when the correlation performed interactively; ? preliminary correlation by one curve with subsequent test on the remaining geophysical curves; increasing and decreasing log curves vertical scale ranging from 1: 1000 to 1: 100 and higher; ? coloring intervals, limited to one or two curves; ? paleoprofilirovanie consistent with repeated change of line matching in the context of sediment in different directions ; ? bringing the different thickness of the individual layer in a number of wells to the same thickness; ? combining schemes correlation with seismic profiles in the scale at least 1: 1000. It should be noted that each of these techniques can be operated separately or in combination with several other. Thus, when the correlation of the Upper Jurassic and Achimov deposits in Western Siberia we have found that the most effective for the correlation is set of curves BK, IR, GR, and, as an auxiliary, PS. After performing the correlation it is recommended to analyze the behavior of the thickness of each of the rock stacks. The combination of automatic and interactive well log correlation techniques, the use of various methods of working with the geophysical curves, and aggregation geological and field and hydrodynamic studies, as well as seismic data, makes it possible to explain the features of and gas formation bedding for the objects of geological structure different complexity and makes it is possible to create geologicaly adequate model of hydrocarbon deposits
