The physical properties of graft polymers are influenced by the length and numberof side chains,and the position of branching points.The regulation of the physicalproperties,therefore,requires the precise control of the branched structures.In thispresentation,we will report that the facile synthesis and thermal properties of asupramolecular graft polymer poly-3 formed by the complexation of a self-assembledcapsule poly-1 to polymer poly-2 (Scheme 1).The formation of poly-3 was confirmed by1H NMR and CD spectrum and DOSY experiments.The thermal properties of poly-1,poly-2,and poly-3 were studied using differential scanning calorimetry.The introduction ofgraft chains onto poly-1 increased the glass transition temperature.Poly-3 gelled inchloroform,1,2-dichloroethane and 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane.The polymer gel showed theself-healing behavior.The viscoelastic properties of poly-3 are influenced by the dynamicnature of the host-guest interactions as well as the interchain interactions of the dense graftchains.
